Some mornings feel like you’re waking up to a life you didn’t choose, where joy got taken piece by piece and you’re left trying to figure out what’s even yours to hope for. We keep it simple and honest today: God is a God of restoration, and what feels stolen is not beyond repair.
We talk through “Take It All Back” by Tauren Wells and We The Kingdom, a worship song built like a battle cry for anyone fighting fear, shame, and that voice that says your best days are behind you. Then we anchor the message in Joel 2:25, where God promises to restore the years the locusts have eaten. If you’ve lost time, confidence, relationships, or peace, that verse names the damage and still points to a future.
We also share Emma’s story: job loss, a painful breakup, and the slow work of rebuilding through faith and prayer. Her turnaround connects straight into Romans 8:28, reminding us that God works in all things for good, even when the enemy’s goal is to destroy.

Good morning, everybody, and welcome to Music Monday, where today we're going to take a look at a song by Torn Wells and We the Kingdom called Take It All Back. It's also known as Taking Back What the Enemy Stole.
It's a song that's all about restoration, and to restore something means to bring it back to its original condition or even better. And throughout the Bible we see countless examples of God's restorative power. One of my favorite verses on this topic is Joel two twenty five, where God promises I will restore to you the years that the swarming locusts of eaten. That's such an incredible promise. The swarming locusts here represent anything in our lives that have been taken or destroyed by the enemy. It could be our joy, our peace, our relationships, our dreams, or anything that has left us feeling empty or broken. But God in his infinite goodness assures us that he can restore it all.
Just recently I heard a story about a lady named Emma. She went through a really tough time a few years back. She had lost her job, and shortly after faced a really painful and ugly breakup. She said it felt like everything was crashing down all at once, as if the enemy was just stealing her joy and her confidence sort of piece by piece. But one of the things that Emma had going for was that she is a fighter. And more importantly, she is a believer. So that during this very difficult time she clung to her faith and the promise of Joel 225. She prayed fervently, trusting that God would restore to her what had been taken from her. And you know what? God did just that. Emma found a new job that was even better than her old one. And she eventually met someone who was her ideal man. He cherished her and loved her deeply. And today Emma is thriving in ways that she never even imagined possible just a few years ago.
This ties perfectly into another piece of scripture, Romans 8.28. It says, And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Emma's story is such a beautiful testimony to that truth. Even when the enemy tries to bring us down, God is always at work, using every situation for our ultimate good and for his glory. Today's song Take It All Back talks about exactly this kind of situation, recognizing that what the enemy has come to destroy, that God will restore. Here's just a few of the lyrics. Fear has got me living with the lights out, chained down like a prisoner in my own house. Shame cycles like a daily medication. I try, but I can't change my situation. Cause the liar comes to rob my joy. Yeah, I'm bruised, but I'm not destroyed. I'm rising like an army, and you're going to hear the sound. I'm calling the angels down, I'm storming the gates of hell. Tell the devil he won't own my soul. I'm taken back what the enemy stole.
This morning, you may feel the enemy has stolen from you, stolen some of the promises, the hope, the joy that you had in your life. You may be facing some very difficult and challenging events in your life. But that does not mean that God has abandoned you. He is with you and he will not leave you, and he will restore to you that which has been stolen from you. Because we serve a God of restoration. He takes our brokenness and he uses it to create something beautiful in us. So this morning, if you're feeling like you've lost something, remember the words of Joel 225, where God promises us that he'll restore to us the years that the swarming locusts have eaten. God's got you, and he's working all things together for your good.
