Some mornings hit hard before you even finish your coffee. If you’ve been wondering how to reconcile a good God with a painful week, this one is for you. We open Monday with a steady reminder and a singable worship hook from Austin French’s “God Is Good” that keeps echoing long after the clip ends.

We also tackle a mistake that quietly wrecks people’s faith: the belief that if God is good, Christians should never face suffering. That’s not what Scripture says. We walk through 1 Peter 4:12–19 and name the reality of trials, then ground our hope in what the Bible says about God’s character and care. You’ll hear key verses like Nahum 1:7 on God as a refuge in times of trouble, Ephesians 2:4–5 on rich mercy and saving grace, and John 3:16 as the clearest snapshot of God’s love.

Along the way, we connect the song’s lyrics to real life: worry, anxiety, and those “where is God in all this?” moments. The takeaway is practical Christian encouragement you can carry into your day: when life is not good, God is still good, still near, and still worthy of your trust. If you need strength to keep going, press play and let this reset your perspective.

Music Monday And Song Spotlight

SPEAKER_00

Good morning, everybody. It's Monday, and God is good all the time. And that's the title of our song for today's Music Monday episode, God is Good by Austin French. And with its message of God's tremendous love and care for his people, combined with a melody that is fun and very easy to sing along with, let's take a look first of all at Scripture, because we need to clarify a mistake that some people have in understanding the goodness of

The Myth About God And Suffering

SPEAKER_00

God. There are those that believe that if God truly is good, then as Christians we should never have anything bad happen to us. Well, that's not what the Bible tells us. In fact, in 1 Peter 4, verses 12 to 19, it says, Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, so that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. The Bible is very clear that we are going to go through tough times, but beyond that it tells us that God is always good for us and to us.

Scripture That Defines God’s Goodness

SPEAKER_00

In the book of Naham, chapter one and verse seven, the Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. Over in Ephesians chapter two, verses four and five, because of his great love for us, God who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgression. It is by his grace you have been saved. See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God. And perhaps the greatest verse about God's love and goodness to us is found in John chapter three and verse sixteen. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. You see, the character of God is always good. So that means that when our lives go through times when they're not good, we can go to God and find help and encouragement and strength and protection and answers from him because God is good. And his love for us helps us through those challenges.

Song Lyrics On Worry And Trust

SPEAKER_00

Here are some of the lyrics from the song by Austin French. He starts out by saying, Lately I've been wrestling with everything 'cause everything seems hard. Been caught up in the worry and anxiety keeps tearing me apart. But I've been down and out before, and every time I cry out to the Lord, He meets me in my need. I've seen and I believe God is good all the time. A little bit later in the song he says, I trust the plans he has for me, no matter what my eyes can see. On peaceful waters or raging seas, I know God is good. I trust the plans that He has for me. Yes, we can trust the plans that God has for us, because God is good. And that means even when we go through difficult times, with really truly heartbreaking, challenging times, God's goodness is always there to help us, to love us and encourage us, and to give us the strength and wisdom that we need to keep

Hope For Chaos And Closing Link

going. So if you're going through some challenges in your life, maybe you're even wondering where is God in the midst of all this chaos? Let me tell you that God is still there. He's still with you, he still loves you, and he is good. And if you continue to hang on to him and to trust him, he will guide you and he will always be there to love you and help you. God will never, ever leave you. That is how much he loves you, and you can trust him with that. I hope you have a wonderful day, my friends. Enjoy it. Know that God is with you. Whether everything goes absolutely perfect today or your day seems full of problems. God is there and he is good and he is with you. Keep the faith, keep believing, and don't give up. I'll leave you with a clip of Austin French and God is good, and then also in your show notes today, there will be a YouTube link that you can click on or copy and paste, and it will take you to the whole song. I hope you enjoy it. Be blessed. Here's Austin French with God is Good.
