Every Gift From God Is Good

SPEAKER_00

Over in the book of James, chapter 1 and verse 17, it tells us that every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect. I love that. That every gift that God gives us is good and perfect. The Bible is the book that tells us all about those gifts, about what they are and how they can be used in us and through us. It is also packed with powerful, life-changing promises that we can get a hold of and grab onto and hang on to when we are going through very difficult times. The Bible is God's powerful how-to manual to live this life that we are in the middle of. And when we don't take advantage of the how to manual, that's when we can get feeling pretty drained and pretty run down and pretty tired.

Stop Taking Life Advice Everywhere

Many years ago there was a commercial on TV for a transmission repair company. They were trying to say in their commercial that you had to come to us because we are the experts, and there's a lot of guys out there who don't know what they're doing. And in the commercial, this guy took his car to another mechanical shop and said he needed to get his transmission fixed. The guy at the service counter turned around to the mechanic and said, Hey Bob, have you ever fixed a transmission? Bob said, No, but I'll give her a try, bring her on in. The guy grabbed his keys and ran out of the shop and then went to the company that was having the commercial. We're the specialists, come to us. Well, it's kind of like that for us in our walk with God sometimes. We're trying to live our life by what we're hearing around us from the people and situations and the world around us, and we're getting a lot of bad advice on how to live and how to make things work. Because quite honestly, unless you're living by God's instruction manual, you're gonna mess it up. You're gonna have a tough time understanding what life is all about, its purpose, how to get through it with peace and joy, and how to get through it successfully and feeling that you have accomplished what you were put in this place to do to begin with. Now, most of us know these things already, but I want to remind us again of what some of those instructions are that God has given us that will help us to live this life and live it to the full in the midst of whatever situation that we are in.

Simple Commands For Daily Living

SPEAKER_00

The Bible tells us that we are to forgive one another. We are to be angry but do not sin. That means if you get angry, get over it quick. The Bible tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves. The Bible tells us to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, with all of our soul, and with all of our mind. With everything we have, we are to love God and to know who He is and what He desires for us.

Who You Are In Christ

SPEAKER_00

Then the Bible speaks a lot to us about us. We are told that as Christians we are a child of God. Not only are you a child of God, but that you are God's friend. And here's one that will rock you. God's word says that if you belong to Christ, you are also a saint. And then in Colossians chapter two, it tells us that we are complete in Christ. I love what it says over in Romans chapter eight. It says that, man, I am now free forever from any condemnation that comes from anybody else because I am in Christ. It tells me also in Romans eight that I can't be separated from the love of God. There's nothing that anybody can do to take me away from God and God's love. Over in Hebrews chapter 4, it tells us that we can find God's grace and mercy at the very times that we need it. Over in Ephesians chapter 2, it tells us that each one of us is God's workmanship. He put us together exactly the way we are. And we may think that we're defective in some way, that we don't look as good as we should, or there's something in our bodies that's not working right. But God says, You are perfect for the way I need you to be, and I will work through you just as you are. And you can relax and be confident in that because anything anybody else says about you doesn't matter. When God looks at you, he says, I made you just the way you are. We also know that in Philippians it tells us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We need God's strength to get through what this world is throwing at us. God is still in control, and we can still have faith in Him to help us, to guide us, to give us the protection and the faith and the courage and the strength and the wisdom that we need to continue to carry on because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

More Than Conquerors Closing

SPEAKER_00

So now, right now, more than ever, we need God's instruction book. We need to be looking and understanding what the Bible teaches us about who he is, about what he wants us to do, about how he wants us to act, react, and interact with each other and with him. And when we learn to do those things, to love the Lord our God with all our heart, our soul, our mind, and love our neighbors as ourselves, we'll be able to get through all of the other stuff that we have around us and that's coming against us. We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. Don't ever forget that. Don't let anybody ever tell you anything different, for we are overcomers in every way by the grace and power of Christ in our lives. Have a great day, my friends. We'll talk again tomorrow. Thank you for listening today. And I invite you to join me Monday to Friday right here on Starting Right with Danny Mack.
