You ever wake up thinking, “Maybe my best days are behind me”? Music Monday meets that thought head-on with a five-minute dose of truth and encouragement built around Josh Baldwin’s song “Made for More.” We talk about the quiet lies that wear people down you’re useless, you’re burned out, you’re too old and replace them with a steadier foundation: God created you on purpose, for a purpose, and he is not done with you yet.

Genesis 1:27 reminds us we are made in the image of God, which means our worth isn’t up for debate. Ephesians 2:10 points to meaningful work God prepared in advance, while John 10:10 frames the difference between spiritual theft and the abundant life Jesus offers. We also lean into 2 Corinthians 5:17 on being a new creation, then connect that renewed identity to mission with 1 Peter 2:9 and Matthew 28:19-20, the Great Commission.

Welcome To Music Monday

Good morning and welcome to Starting Right with Danny Mack. I'm going to be here every Monday to Friday to help you get a great five-minute start to your day. So grab your cup of coffee, sit back, relax, and let me help you start your day right. Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Music Monday. And today we're going to look at a wonderful song by Josh Baldwin called Made for More.

You Are Made For More

SPEAKER_00

It is a powerful reminder to all of us that God has a reason for each one of us being here. He has created us for a special purpose, and wherever you are in your life, God is not done with you yet. He has made you for more. And he has more to bless you with, to help you with, and for you to accomplish for his kingdom. Never get so down on yourself that you think that your time is done and that you are worthless. God has made you for more.

Scripture On Purpose And Identity

SPEAKER_00

We're going to go over some scripture that talks about how God's created us before we get into the song. In Genesis chapter 1, verse 27, it says, God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God. He created them. You and I and every person on this earth are created in the image of God. We are designed to reflect God's character and God's glory. This reminds each one of us that we have a greater purpose beyond simply existing. That God has given to each of us the ability to be creative, to love, and to have a moral capacity. Over to Ephesians chapter two and verse ten, it says, We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do. Never forget that God has created you for a purpose, that there are good things that God has preordained for you, which indicates that each one of us has meaning and the ability to contribute to this world around us. Over in John 10 10, Jesus said the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come, Jesus said, that you might have life and have it to the full. Jesus is saying there is an abundant life for us. It's an invitation to live fully in a relationship with God and God's purpose for us, which He will reveal to us. Over in Second Corinthians chapter five and verse seventeen, it says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old is gone and the new is here. This verse talks about the powerful transformation that comes through Christ in our lives. The old self, all of our weaknesses and our failings and our mistakes can be left behind, and Christ comes and renews us so that we are new creations with a fresh divine purpose for Him. How about first Peter chapter two, verse nine? Paul says, You are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. That's absolutely mind-blowing. We are priests, holy priests in God's kingdom. But that status comes along with some responsibilities and privileges as we represent God and proclaim his goodness and his love to this world. Let me throw one more at you. Matthew twenty-eight, nineteen and twenty. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you, and surely I am with you always to the very end of the age. This is the great commission that God has given to each one of us. And we are all still here on this planet to fulfill that commission. We do it in different ways. We may speak things to people, we may act in ways around them that will impact them for Christ. We may do something for them that will make a difference in their lives. Not everyone will do it exactly the same way, but God uses us to build his kingdom because we are made for more.

Lyrics That Refuse The Past

SPEAKER_00

Let me read you just a few of the lyrics from this wonderful song. You buried my past, and I'm not going back because I wasn't made to be tended to grave, I was called by name, born and raised back to life again. I was made for more. And that is true for all of us. You and I were made for more. As long as you are still on this earth and you are breathing, God is not finished with you. He has more for you, more to bless you with, more to encourage you with, and more opportunities for you to do something wonderful and powerful for his kingdom. Don't allow the enemy to tell you that you're useless, or that you're burned out, or that you're worn out, or you're too old, or you're too anything else. God is not done with you. You are none of the things that the enemy has lied to you about. In Christ, you are a new creation and you are made for more. I'm going to leave
