Would A Stranger Meet Jesus In You

Can someone tell you’ve been with Jesus before you ever mention His name? That’s the uncomfortable, clarifying question we sit with today, and it comes straight out of Acts 4:13. People looked at Peter and John ordinary men without impressive credentials and still recognized something undeniable: they had been with Jesus. That single verse challenges the way we think about influence, evangelism, and what a Christ-centered life actually looks like in public.

Welcome And Daily Five-Minute Start
SPEAKER_00Good morning and welcome to Starting Right with Danny Mack. I'm going to be here every Monday to Friday to help you get a great five-minute start to your day. So grab your cup of coffee, sit back, relax, and let me help you start your day right. Good morning, everybody. It's great to have you here today. And this morning I want to start off by asking this question. Can strangers see Jesus in you? Now I know for some people that question can feel a little bit intimidating, but it's an important question to ask, because each one of us are to be a reflection of Christ. We're to show his goodness and his compassion to the world around us. It's also true that for many people, if they don't see Jesus in us, they won't be wanting to know him themselves. Today we're going to take a look at Acts chapter 4 and verse 13. It's a verse that challenges us to reflect on the character of Christ in our lives. We'll take some time to explore the implications of the question and how we can learn to be better at showing the love and compassion of Christ to the people around us. Let's take a look first of all at the verse. Acts chapter 4 and verse 13. It says, Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, they perceived that they were uneducated, common men, and they were astonished, and they recognized that they had been with Jesus. I love this verse because it highlights such a profound truth that the way we live our lives can be a testament to our relationship with Jesus even if we don't have eloquent words or impressive credentials. One of the key elements of this verse is the boldness displayed by Peter and John. They spoke with confidence, not because they'd been to Bible school or they were pastors, but simply because they had been with Jesus. You see, as followers of Christ, our interactions with strangers should exude a similar boldness that stems from our time that we've spent with Jesus. Take a moment this morning to reflect on your own life. Do you approach challenges and conversations with the boldness that comes from spending time with Jesus? And then we need to ask ourselves: how can we incorporate more of his courage into our daily lives and our interactions with strangers? The authenticity of Peter and John also stands out in this verse. People recognize that they were uneducated common men, yet there was something very different about them. Authenticity is a powerful tool in reflecting Jesus to strangers. It's not about pretending to be someone that we're not, but rather allowing the love of Christ to shine through us so that people can see our genuine selves. We need to consider how we can be more authentic in our interactions. How can we let go of the pretenses and share our faith in a way that is relatable to strangers? Authenticity opens doors for genuine connections and conversations about Christ. We also need to learn to reflect Christ in everyday acts of kindness. You see, this verse also challenges us to ask the question of ourselves, can strangers see Jesus in us? Getting beyond the boldness and authenticity, we need to explore how our daily acts of kindness can reflect the love of Christ. And sometimes it's the small gestures, a listening ear or a helping hand that can leave an impact on those people that we encounter. Very often it's simple acts of kindness that have the potential to reveal Jesus to other people. It could be a coworker, a neighbor, or a stranger you meet in passing. The love we show in those moments can speak volumes about the transformative power of Jesus Christ in our lives. So let me ask the question again. Can strangers see Jesus in you? Through boldness, authenticity, and everyday acts of kindness, we have the opportunity to reflect the love and grace of Christ to those we encounter. And when we choose to live and interact with people based upon what Christ has done in us and through us, we are making the conscious effort to be ambassadors of Christ in our daily lives. And that's really what a Christ-centered life is all about. Letting the light and life of Christ shine through us to impact the people around us. I pray that for all of us, our lives will be a reflection of that love and compassion of Christ, and that each one of us will be blessed and will be a blessing today. Have a great day, my friends. We will talk again tomorrow. Thank you for joining us today, and I invite you to join us every Monday to Friday, right here at Starting Right with Danny Mack.
