Starting Right

Worship Through It

DannyMac Season 1 Episode 2029

Five minutes can flip the day. We open with a fresh cup of hope and a song that refuses to wait for perfect conditions: “Worship Through It” by Tasha Leighton and Chris Brown. From the first lyric—calling God the God of the impossible—we move into a story where faith doesn’t hide from fear; it leads the charge. King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 faces a wall of enemies and does the unthinkable: he puts singers in front of soldiers. That moment isn’t theater; it’s theology in motion, trusting God’s character before the outcome shows up.
Expect practical handles, not fluff. We share how to begin the morning by naming the impossible, speaking God’s attributes over it, and letting a worship song carry what your heart can’t say yet. This short daily rhythm builds courage, steadies emotions, and invites God to work in ways we can’t see. If you need a reset, a reminder, or just a nudge to lift your eyes, this is your five-minute start.

Good morning and welcome to Starting Right with Danny Mack. I'm going to be here every Monday to Friday to help you get a great five-minute start to your day. So grab your cup of coffee, sit back, relax, and let me help you start your day right. Good morning everybody and welcome. I really hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today on Music Monday, I've got something really special for you. It's a wonderful song from Tasha Leighton and Chris Brown called Worship Through It. The song starts with these lyrics. This looks impossible, but you're the god of impossible, and I've seen your faithfulness all over my life. I need a miracle, and you're the god of miracles. Some way, somehow you come through every time. Isn't that a great reminder of God's promises? Especially if we're in a place right now where we feel hopeless or desperate. It's easy in those moments to feel overwhelmed. But today I want to remind you of the great news that our God specializes in the impossible. Listen to what Jesus says in Luke chapter one, verse thirty-seven. Nothing will be impossible with God. That means that God doesn't merely get us through the difficult times, he is capable of turning the impossible into the possible. Here's a story from the Old Testament that I think will help us to see this a little bit more clearly. It's the story of King Jehoshaphat in Second Chronicles in the twentieth chapter. It's here that we see the king faced with an invasion from multiple enemies. Full of fear, he turns to God, proclaiming a fast for all of Judah, and he seeks the Lord, acknowledging that within themselves they are not able to face this huge army. What is really incredible here is Jehoshaphat's response. Rather than panic or despair, he goes before the people and he leads them to worship. In verse 21, he appoints singers to praise the Lord, and they began to worship before the battle even began. Let's just stop for a moment and imagine. They're standing on the brink of what seemed like a complete disaster, yet their response was worship. From this we can learn that worship is a powerful act of faith. When we praise God in the face of adversity, we're declaring our trust in his goodness and his power. As you read through the rest of the story, you see that God responds to their praises. As the people began to sing and praise him, we're told that the Lord set ambushes against the enemies, and they were defeated. I love this. It's such an incredible reminder that God fights for us even in ways that we cannot see. It says, I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. The psalm directs us and encourages us to maintain a posture of worship, not just in good times, but at all times. When we focus on God's goodness and faithfulness, we shift our perspective from our problems to Him and to His power. Another favorite verse is Hebrews chapter 11, verse 1. It tells us that faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Worshiping God in the middle of your struggles is that kind of faith. A confidence that even unseen, God is working on our behalf. Let's go back and look at a few more lyrics from our song today. It says, I won't wait till the rocks cry out, I'm gonna praise you. I won't wait till the walls come down, I'm gonna praise you. Gonna lift my hands right here, right now, I'm gonna praise you. Oh God, I praise you. I know my God can do it. So I'm gonna worship through it. Before I see my breakthrough, I'm gonna choose to praise you. I really like how this song reminds us that we are to praise God even though we have not yet seen the answer. And sometimes that's a reminder that we all need to have. I'm gonna leave you with just a clip of worship through it, and then in your show notes today there will be the YouTube link that you can click on and go and watch the video, and you will be blessed. I hope you have a great day, my friends. God is with you, He loves you, and He wants to bless you and help you to be a blessing in someone else's life.
