More Than Able
Good morning and welcome to Starting Right with Danny Mac. I'm going to be here every Monday to Friday to help you get a great five-minute start to your day. So grab your cup of coffee, sit back, relax and let me help you start your day right. Good morning everyone, and welcome to Music Monday and today I've got a wonderful song for you from Elevation Worship. The song is called More Than Able.
Speaker 1:This song is for all of us because we all at times have struggled with our faith. We have wondered if God is able to do what he has said he can and will do. We've struggled with the circumstances of our lives. We've struggled with family things. We've struggled with the circumstances of our lives. We've struggled with family things. We've struggled with health. We've gone through all of these things and there are times, quite frankly, when many of us question whether God is able and willing to be with us and help us because we just haven't seen an answer yet. Here's how the song starts when did I forget all the great things you did? When did I throw away faith for the impossible? How did I start to believe you weren't sufficient for me? Why do I talk myself out of seeing miracles? You are more than able. Who am I to deny what the Lord can do? Did you catch that closing question? Who am I to deny what the Lord can do? I think that's the part of this song that really struck me the most that when we don't believe that God is able to answer our problems and questions, what we're really doing is denying God. We deny his abilities. But we need to remember that in all things God is able.
Speaker 1:Chris Brown, who is one of the leaders with Elevation Worship, said this in an interview. He said I don't know what it is about age, but it can talk you out of a lot of things. Growing older can have you start playing it safe, getting comfortable enough with your life that you begin to operate in your own strength, or maybe even cause you to no longer believe God for greater things because you stopped remembering all that he's done for you or you've quit paying attention to how he's in the rhythms of life with you. But the truth is God is still writing your story, so don't give up believing Him for more. You don't have to have it all figured out, you don't have to know how it's going to turn out. Just trust that God is in the details of your life, working all things together for your good Over.
Speaker 1:In Ephesians 3, verse 20, it says Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. And that's a powerful verse because it reminds us that God can do even more than our imaginations can come up with, more than we think, because we have a God who's able to do things that we think are impossible. The last portion of Matthew 19.26, says With God, all things are possible. That's what God wants to remind all of us that with Him, all things are possible.
Speaker 1:In the latter part of the song there's a powerful statement of faith that Chandler Moore says Just because I haven't seen it yet doesn't mean that he can't do it. Who am I to deny what the Lord can do? You are more than able. You are not done with me yet. There's so much more to this story. You're not done with me yet. There's so much more to this story. You're not done with me yet, and I really love that. He says that For many people their faith only goes as far as what God has done in answering their prayers, and they get frustrated and angry with God if he's not answering all their prayers and giving them all their requests and bringing all the healing that they desire.
Speaker 1:But the statement here by Chandler says that he will have faith in God for things that he has not been able to see even in his own life and in his own body. It will not change his faith about God. This is the faith that's talked about in Hebrews, chapter 11 and verse 1, where it says faith shows the reality of what we hope for. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. Our faith believes in things that have not happened yet, but part of the faith is that we must continue to believe always that God is able.
Speaker 1:I'm going to leave you with just a short clip of the song today, man. I hope you enjoy it, and then in your show notes there will be the YouTube link that you can click on and watch the entire video. It's a little bit longer it's about nine minutes long but, man, it is well worth the watch and the listen. It's a powerful song. It will encourage you, it will bless you and it will give you a great start to your week. Have a great day, my friends, and here's Elevation Worship with More Than Able. Thank you.
