DannyMac Season 1 Episode 1181

On today's Music Monday episode of Starting Right with Danny Mac, we explore the powerful new song "Worship Through It" by Tasha Layton and Chris Brown. This inspiring anthem reminds us of the transformative power of worship, especially in times of adversity. Drawing lessons from the story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles, we see how choosing praise over fear can lead to miraculous outcomes. Through scriptures like Luke 1:37 and Psalm 34:1, we learn the importance of maintaining a posture of worship, trusting in God's power to turn the impossible into the possible.

So grab your cup of coffee, sit back, relax and let me help you start your day right. Good morning, everybody, and welcome. I really hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today, on Music Monday, I've got something really special for you.

Speaker 1:

It's a wonderful new song from Tasha Layton and Chris Brown called Worship Through it. The song starts with these lyrics this looks impossible, but you're the God of impossible and I've seen your faithfulness all over my life. I need a miracle, and you're the God of miracles. Some way, somehow, you come through every time. Isn't that a great reminder of God's promises, especially if we're in a place right now where we feel hopeless or desperate? It's easy in those moments to feel overwhelmed, but today I want to remind you of the great news that our God specializes in the impossible. Listen to what Jesus says in Luke 1, verse 37. Nothing will be impossible with God. That means that God doesn't merely get us through the difficult times. He is capable of turning the impossible into the possible.

Speaker 1:

Here's a story from the Old Testament that I think will help us to see this a little bit more clearly. It's the story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles, in the 20th chapter. It's here that we see the king faced with an invasion from multiple enemies. Full of fear, he turns to God, proclaiming a fast for all of Judah, and he seeks the Lord, acknowledging that within themselves they are not able to face this huge army. What is really incredible here is Jehoshaphat's response. Rather than panic or despair, he goes before the people and he leads them to worship. In verse 21, he appoints singers to praise the Lord, and they began to worship before the battle even began. Let's just stop for a moment and imagine they're standing on the brink of what seemed like a complete disaster, yet their response was worship. From this, we can learn that worship is a powerful act of faith. When we praise God in the face of adversity, we're declaring our trust in his goodness and his power. As you read through the rest of the story, you see that God responds to their praises. As the people began to sing and praise Him, we're told that the Lord set ambushes against the enemies and they were defeated. I love this. It's such an incredible reminder that God fights for us, even in ways that we cannot see.

Speaker 1:

Psalm 34, verse 1, is one of my favorites. It says I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. The psalm directs us and encourages us to maintain a posture of worship, not just in good times, but at all times. When we focus on God's goodness and faithfulness, we shift our perspective from our problems to Him and to His power, our perspective from our problems to Him and to His power. Another favorite verse is Hebrews 11.1. It tells us that faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Worshiping God in the middle of your struggles is that kind of faith, a confidence that even unseen, god is working on our behalf.

Speaker 1:

Let's go back and look at a few more lyrics from our song today. It says I won't wait till the rocks cry out. I'm going to praise you. I won't wait till the walls come down. I'm going to praise you, going to lift my hands right here, right now. I'm going to praise you. Oh God, I praise you. I know my God can do it, so I'm going to worship through it. Before I see my breakthrough. I want to choose to praise you.

Speaker 1:

I really like how this song reminds us that we are to praise God, even though we have not yet seen the answer, and sometimes that's a reminder that we all need to have. I'm going to leave you with just a clip of worship through it, and then in your show notes today there will be the YouTube link that you can click on and go and watch the video, and you will be blessed. I hope you have a great day, my friends. God is with you, he loves you and he wants to bless you and help you to be a blessing in someone else's life. Here's Tasha Layton with Chris Brown and Worship Through it. I need a miracle, and you're the God of miracles. Someway, somehow, you come through every time. I know my God can do it. I'm gonna worship to it Before I see my breakthrough. I'm gonna choose to praise you. I will sing hallelujah to the one who can do what the world says can do.
